Last Monday, June 5, Olds High School held its annual awards assembly to honour student athletes and those participating in extracurricular activities. Nominees for the four athlete of the year awards are chosen based on four criteria: contribution to the athletic program; leadership qualities; sportsmanship; and ability and accomplishments of the athlete in their respective sports.
Junior Female Athlete of the Year

Two sports camp bursaries awarded
In addition to honouring the athletes of the year, two students received scholarships to attend summer sports camps. The 14th annual Rotary Gordon Mitchell Memorial Sports Bursaries were awarded to Micaelin Caskey and Cole Walsh, who will be attending volleyball and wrestling camps respectively.
OHS Extracurricular Awards
Students who have participated in one or more extracurricular events each year in grades 10-12, or for the years they attended OHS, receive a Spartan pin. This year 34 graduating students were recognized.
