Olds will play host to a Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League Senior C Showcase this weekend, featuring all eight teams in the second-highest division.

Teams from Blackfalds, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Vermillion, Airdrie, Calgary, Lethbridge and Okotoks will face off in an eight-game series at the Olds Sportsplex, beginning with the Blackfalds Silverbacks up against the Airdrie Mohawks Friday night at 9 p.m.

In addition, the Olds Mavericks will host the Lethbridge Cudas Sunday afternoon in a battle that will eventually determine the south conference leader. Both teams currently hold first in their respective divisions. The south west Mavs are 11-1 this season, while the south central Cudas are undefeated with 13-0. The Mavericks' only loss is to Lethbridge.

ìSo we are out for revenge and would like to fill the arena to create some electricity,î said head coach Gary Gaudette.

The Mavs face off at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Olds Sportsplex, while the Junior B Tier III Olds Stingers will challenge the Calgary Axemen Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. Admission is free for all matches.
