DIDSBURY – Local lacrosse player Brayden Sinclair says his U-15 Alberta team’s recent trip to nationals in Kelowna, B.C. was a worthwhile and rewarding experience.

INNISFAIL - Participants from across Alberta took to water and land for the 20th annual Innisfail Triathlon. The event took place at the Innisfail Aquatic Centre on Saturday, Sept. 7.

BOWDEN - Lonny Olson has been rodeoing for nearly 50 years. The former Canadian professional trick rider still competes in calf roping, ribbon roping and breakaway roping. Olson was born and raised in Belle Fourche, S.D.

Bowden-area resident Marshall Bloomfield says he learned a lot this year, playing Junior A lacrosse for the Okotoks Raiders — including in the Minto Cup, the national Junior A lacrosse championship. The Minto Cup was held Aug.

A young Sundre baseball player’s collection of gold medals continues to grow. Nicholas Backstrom, who pitched with Team Alberta during the recent Western Canada Summer Games, brought home another gold medal.
