Spruce View School recently held its annual Athletic Awards, showcasing the school's top athletes for the 2015-16 school year. “It's a celebration of athletics for the entire year,” said Ken Kure, athletic director.

The Innisfail Horseshoe Club is enjoying a record setting season. The club has welcomed four new members this year, totalling the highest membership numbers in the club's history.

Adding to the Olds Mavericks' strong inaugural season in Tier II lacrosse, a pair of 16-year-olds on the team finished first and second in Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League scoring.

The Olds Rapids swim team sent a pair of swimmers to the 2016 Speedo Alberta Age Group and Senior Championships earlier this month. The provincial meet was held from June 30 to July 3 in Calgary.

Two swimmers from Olds will represent Zone 4 at the Alberta Summer Games this week in Leduc. Twelve-year-old Carson Ogloff and Aiden Morgan, 13, qualified for the zone team at a meet in Red Deer last month.
