Advisory issued as fog envelopes Mountain View County Thursday morning

Environment and Climate Change Canada's Special weather statement says visibility expected to improve late on the morning of March 13

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Environment and Climate Change Canada issued fog advisory Thursday morning for Mountain View County and the urban centres near it as well as some neighbouring municipalities

"Fog with near-zero visibility has developed," the federal agency's 6:07 a.m. special weather statement for the area said. "The visibility will improve late this morning."

Mountain View County near Sundre, Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs, Cremona and Water Valley were included in the advisory's affected area.

Also included were:

• Kneehill County near Acme, Linden, Torrington, Three Hills, Trochu, Carbon, Wimborne,and Huxley. 

• Rocky View County near Airdrie, Crossfield, Bottrel, Madden, Bragg Creek, Tsuu T'na, Chestermere, Dalroy, Dalemead, Cochrane, Irricana, Beiseker and Kathryn

If visibility is reduced while driving, the federal agency advises to turn on the vehicle's lights, maintain a safe following distance, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
