MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - County council has considered two land use bylaw re-designations, one for a property in Division 1 and one for a property in Division 4.
Council also set public hearing dates for both proposals for Dec. 11 in council chambers.
The moves came during the recent regularly scheduled council meeting.
Council gave first reading to a re-designation for a property in the Midway rural community on the county’s east side approximately 20 kilometres southeast of Carstairs.
The proposal is to re-designate 10 acres from agricultural district to residential farmstead district, at SW 36-29-28-4.
Council gave first reading to a re-designation from agriculture 2 district to country residential district for a 3.58-acre parcel in the Bergen rural neighbourhood. It would create a new country residential parcel, at NE 3-32-5-5.
“The property is surrounded by a mix of agricultural lands and country residential parcels,” administration said in a briefing note to council. “Two quarters to the north, one directly south and one east of this quarter are unsubdivided quarters. The quarter to the west and northeast has one subdivision. The quarter to the southeast has five titles and also contains a cemetery.”
