MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – The county's administrative office reopened to public access on Thursday, May 14 at 8 a.m. as the provincial government moves forward with Phase 1 of the economic re-launch, officials said.
Premier Jason Kenney said Wednesday that Phase 1 would go ahead as planned.
The county office has been closed to the public since last month as part of the COVID-19 pandemic response.
Although the office will now reopen, a number guidelines and regulations will be in place, including the following:
• any visitors experiencing COVID-19-related symptoms are being asked to not attend the facility
• the office will be limited to a maximum of 15 non-employees at any one time. If more than 15 non-employees show up, the extra will be asked to wait outside.
• in-person meetings with staff will be held by appointment only, which can be scheduled by calling the employee directly or by phoning the main office.
• meeting room usage is closed to the public and no external bookings are being permitted
• physical separation measures have been installed at the facility to protect residents and staff
• residents and businesses are still being requested to consider remote payment options rather than in-person payments
Council and committee meetings will continue to be held by teleconference for the time being.
The county’s day use areas including Hillers Dam, William J. Bagnall Wilderness Park, Winchell Lake and Davidson Park have been open for public access since last Friday.
