MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Mountain View County council has approved updates to the municipality’s fee schedule for services provided by the county in 2020.
The move came during a regularly scheduled council meeting.
Charges for tax certificates increase from $25 to $30, tax certificates faxed from $25 to $30, assessment certificates from $25 to $30, registration of tax notifications from $50 to $55, advertisement fee from $50 to $55, and county maps mailed from $25 to $30.
Animal control bylaw permit application fee from $10 to $50, dog control bylaw permit application now $100, and topsoil bylaw permit application fee is now $50.
Safety Codes bylaw occupational certificate now $75, and fire code compliance inspection $90 per hour.
Meanwhile, while the overall permit numbers for 2019 will not be released until February, it is possible to estimate totals using results from the first three quarters.
Using that method, there were an estimated 73 planning applications compliance certificates issued compared with 93 in 2018, 102 development permits discretionary issued compared with 115 in 2018, and 76 development permits issued compared with 82 in 2018.
Planning application totals were about 305 in 2019, compared with 351 in 2018.
Regarding permitting applications, there were about 176 building permits issued compared with 203 in 2018, 292 electrical permits issued compared with 304 in 2018, 152 gas permits issued compared with 224 in 2018, 73 plumbing permits issued compared with 103 in 2018, and 41 sewage permits compared with 66 in 2018.
Permitting applications totalled 734, compared with 900 in 2018.
Overall building permit economic activity totalled about $37.4 million on an estimated 176 permits.
