MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - As of last month, operators of six Mountain View County farms have agreed to participate in the Aug. 13-14 Open Farm Days program.
“They are located throughout the county,” said Jane Fulton, Mountain View County's assistant director of legislative, community and agricultural services. “They have agreed in principle to participate in our tour.”
The farms participating are Huntcliff Dairy, Custom Woolen Mills, Chickadee Hills Farms, Tall Timber Cattle Co., Water Valley Hops, and Fallen Timber Meadery.
Planning for the bus tour is continuing, she said.
Board members passed a motion that the bus tour and lunch will have a fee of $25 per family or $10 per adult.
This year is the 10th year for the Open Farm Days Program.
The agriculture service board is made up of county councillors and appointed public members. It advises the county and province on agriculture issues and concerns.
