MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Local artists, elected officials, area residents and others took park in the 2nd annual pumpkin painting event at the Heritage Centre outside Cremona last week.
The event is all in support of the Mountain View Food Bank.
In all about 30 people from across the region took part in the pumpkin painting day.
On Saturday, families and others came out to the Centre to purchase the decorated pumpkins, with 101 pumpkins sold and $2,222.70 raised.
“It’s really heartwarming and we had such a great time,” said Debora Rice-Salomons, owner of the Heritage Centre. "The whole community came together."
Dignitaries taking part in this year's event included area MLA Nathan Cooper, Mountain View County reeve Angela Aalbers, deputy reeve Dwayne Fulton, and county councillors Greg Harris and Alan Miller, she said.
Volunteers from across the district were involved again this year.
Rice-Salomons donated the 120 pumpkins for the project. Asked if the event will repeated in 2025, she said "absolutely."
