MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY — The county’s agricultural services board (ASB) has approved funding for a number of riparian fencing and water system projects.
The move came by way of motions at the board’s recent regularly scheduled board meeting, held in person and by Zoom.
Members approved funding for 75 per cent of materials for three riparian fencing projects to a maximum of $5,212 and 25 per cent of the watering system materials to a maximum of $625 on a tributary to the Little Red Deer River at NW 01-34-04-W5.
The board also approved $555 to annual payments for maintenance of this project from the 2021 alternative land use services (ALUS) budget.
Members approved funding for 100 per cent of materials for the two riparian fencing projects to a maximum of $7,373 on the Dogpound Creek at 27-31-03-W5, as well as $1,432 to annual payments for the maintenance of the project from the 2021 ALUS budget.
Members approved funding for 100 per cent of materials for the two riparian fencing projects to a maximum of $7,152 and 25 per cent of the water system materials to a maximum of $1,903 on a tributary of the Fallentimber Creek at N 08-31-05-W5.
As well, members approved $2,090 to annual payments for maintenance of the project.
Members approved funding for 75 per cent of materials for the riparian fencing project to a maximum of $1,786 on a tributary of the Fallentimber Creek at SE 08-32-05-W5.
Additionally, members approved $825 to annual payments for maintenance of the project.
The ASB is made up of county councillors and appointed members of the public at large. Producer Brian Rodger is the current chairman.
