It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brad Billings on Monday, September 28th, 2020 at the age of 63 years. Brad was born June 16, 1957 to Eileen & Howard Billings and raised in Calgary, AB. He attended Ogden Elementary grades 1-6, Sherwood School grades 7-9, Western Canada High grades 10-12.  Brad obtained his Sheet Metal Journeyman at SAIT in Calgary in 1988. He was employed at Boot’s Garage, Art’s Maintenance and Shell Canada.

Brad (Hammer) made friends easily, loved to laugh, was hard working and known for his integrity, loyalty & commitment to whatever he set his mind to. He loved growing up in Ogden, with the wide open fields and the delight of riding his bike on the dragon trail. Brad & Deb moved in together in August of 1979 and were married on August 26, 1989, they bought their land at Bearberry in 1984 built their home in 1988 & have lived there ever since. “To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage” - Lao-Tzu, Tao-Te-Ching.

Alyssa Dee was born April 13, 1994 and was Brad’s pride & joy.  They shared moments together, skiing, working in the shop, going to football games, watching movies & eating ice cream.  Brad had many hobbies including being a Toyota mechanic, playing guitar & helping others with their renovations or projects.

Brad is survived by his loving wife Deborah of Sundre; daughter Alyssa of Kelowna, BC; mother Eileen of Calgary; brothers Ross (Cathy) of Dewinton, AB, Darse (Alexandra) of Surrey, England and  nephew Forrest of Dewinton, AB.

Brad was predeceased by his father Howard Billings. A special thank you to Dr. Jena Smith for her dedication to Brad’s health concerns over the past several years. Determined, Innovative, Pioneering. 

A private burial was held at the Sundre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Boys & Girls Club.  Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements. 403-507-8610  www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
