MYETTE, PAUL

March 15, 1932 – December 14, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Paul Myette at the Sundre hospital with his wife Elaine and Paul’s children by his side.

Paul was born near Meadow Lake Saskatchewan on the family farm to his parents Suzanne and Helidore Myette, one of seven siblings, leaving home at 21, Paul worked at different jobs, meeting many good friends along the way. Paul had 10 children from two different unions.

Paul logged and drove logging truck for GM Logging for over 30 years, moving to Sundre with his children in 1978. In 1979 Paul met Elaine and her son Rory whom Paul happily took as his own. Rory was honoured to call Paul, Dad. In 1980, Paul and Elaine and our children Elmer, Susan, Keith, Darcy, Jojo, Paul Jr., and Rory came together and made a wonderful life as one family. Paul followed work with GM Logging from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and back to Alberta. He quit logging in 1985 and in 1986 Paul managed the Bi-Lo gas station in Sundre for 10 years before retiring and he helped Elaine with her business.

Buying our second home, we moved into the condo in 2006, where I still live. Paul had been on the condo board for many years, meeting friends, playing games and cards, crib was his favourite.

Paul and Elaine married in 2018. We had 43 wonderful years together. We travelled and of course camping was Paul’s favourite, with family and friends and at many family reunions. What a time we had.

Paul loved the outdoors, curling and hockey; he spent many hours at the rink coaching and watching his boys play.

Paul doted on his family, he was a great Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. He will be missed for his sense of humour. Paul was a gentle giant, the finest man I have ever known.

Paul is survived by his wife Elaine; children: Elmer, Keith, Paul Jr., of Calgary; Susan/Lee, Darcy, Jojo, and Rory all of Sundre; Marie/Shawn of Kamloops; daughters Rose and Jennette of Edmonton; Brother Vic and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his grandparents, Mom and Dad, Suzanne and Helidore, son Gene; sister Eva; brothers Oscar, Bill, Hector, Marcelle and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
