Herbert Ernst Schulz passed away peacefully on May 20, 2021 at the Bethany Didsbury at the wonderful age of 95.
Herbert was born on September 26, 1925 in Kleingluschen, Pommern, Germany to Willi and Martha Schulz.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Katie and Trude and his brothers Helmuth and Rudi. Herbert immigrated to Canada in 1952 and worked on his uncle’s ranch in Cochrane for a short period of time and then moved to Calgary where he worked as a carpenter and married the love of his life Christa Heubner in December of 1952. They purchased a quarter of land near Carstairs in 1965 where they worked evenings and weekends while still living and working in Calgary. They then purchased a second quarter in 1968 and moved out to the farm south of Carstairs in 1969 where he farmed with Rudy into his 70’s.
Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Christa, of 68 years and his son Rudy (Jennifer) and his grandchildren, Nicole, Jake and Kurt. Herbert was a good man all around and his sense of humour and wit will be dearly missed. We love you Dad/Opa.
