Accused TD Bank robber has yet to make election and plea

A man who stands accused of twice robbing the Olds TD Canada Trust bank will next appear in court on March 3 in Didsbury.

A man who stands accused of twice robbing the Olds TD Canada Trust bank will next appear in court on March 3 in Didsbury.

Rory Alan Jackson is charged with two counts of robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, using an imitation firearm to commit an offence and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking or recognizance in relation to a robbery at the bank on Jan. 24.

He is also charged with robbing the same bank last June.

Jackson appeared in Didsbury court on Feb. 24 for election and plea and the matter was put over.

He is also charged with seven counts of fraud under $5,000 after allegedly using fraudulent cheques at the Bergen Liquor Store and Sobeys in Sundre.

Jackson is also charged with theft under $5,000 after an incident at the Olds Liquor Store on June 20 last year.

On Feb. 18, Jackson appeared in a Red Deer court to answer to charges stemming from a liquor store robbery in that city that happened the night before the most recent bank robbery in Olds.

He is charged with robbery, using a firearm during the commission of an offence, using a disguise during an indictable offence and failing to comply with an undertaking in connection to a Jan. 23 robbery at the Gaetz Avenue Liquor Store.

He was appearing in court for election and plea and the matter has been put over until Feb. 28.

Jackson remains in police custody.
