“Adult entertainment” which could include strippers, should be allowed in the Texas Mickey bar, according to nearly 60 per cent of respondents to an Olds Albertan web poll.
The poll asked, “should town council allow adult entertainment to be offered in the Texas Mickey bar in Uptowne?”
As of Friday, April 29, 58.5 per cent of respondents answered “yes.” A total of 41.5 per cent answered “no.”
A few weeks ago, Texas Mickey bar owner Jen Cassavant applied to Olds town council to have a town land use bylaw amended to allow adult entertainment as a permitted use. If approved, the bylaw change would only apply to that establishment.
A public hearing on the proposal is set for May 9, 1 p.m. at the town office.
