OLDS — Town council has recently approved a change to a daycare facility application it approved earlier.

Council initially approved the application Aug. 28. for a daycare to be operated at Hope Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene.

The daycare will be operated in three rooms on the main floor of the church building at 5402 43rd St. and house up to 15 children. It will have one employee who will live off-site.

In a request for decision in the Aug. 28 council agenda package, development officer Shari Edgington said plans call for the daycare to operate Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Development officer Shari Edgington noted that one of the conditions for approval said no more than two non-residents could be employed in the daycare.

However, Edgington explained that that condition was meant for daycares located in a residential dwelling.

She said because it’s located in Hope Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, that condition is not required, so the development authority asked that it be removed.
