Construction moving along at Olds College and CLC

Construction is moving ahead as planned for the new Olds College residence, according to Kathy Kimpton, vice-president of student and support services.

Construction is moving ahead as planned for the new Olds College residence, according to Kathy Kimpton, vice-president of student and support services.“So the residence is on schedule and on budget, which are the two key parameters that we need,” Kimpton said. “We're really, really happy with how things are progressing so far. The developer is also very pleased.”Kimpton said the 450-unit residence will be finished by September 2015.Also on the campus, construction on the addition to the Ralph Klein Centre at the Community Learning Campus (CLC) is on schedule, said Coun. Debbie Bennett at a council meeting on May 26.Bennett had attended a CLC governance meeting on May 5 and said the squash courts should be finished by the end of June.“Weather dependent, the squash/racquetball room will be ready,” she said. “The whole building, not necessarily.”Storage space, a multi-purpose room, high intensity training facility and change rooms will also be built, Bennett continued.She said the project is also on budget and is slated to open in September when school starts [email protected]
