The two men who were apprehended and charged in relation to the Rexall Drug Store robbery on February 1 are now facing additional charges as a result of a search warrant executed in Red Deer on Feb. 12.
In addition to the seven counts in relation to the local robbery, RCMP have now laid seven more counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, nine additional counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, 10 additional counts of careless use of a firearm, three additional counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, 11 additional counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order and two additional counts of possession of a controlled substance against Stanley Cox, 46, of Red Deer relating to other investigations.
In addition to eight counts against Tyler Cox, 21, of Red Deer relating to the Olds robbery, he is also facing one count of carless use of a firearm, seven counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, nine counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, 11 counts of careless use of a firearm, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, 11 counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order and two counts of possession of a controlled substance related to other investigations.
Red Deer RCMP said various detachments are continuing to investigate and expected more charges to be laid against the two men. Both appeared in Red Deer court on Feb. 18 and are next to appear in court Feb. 28 in Didsbury on the Olds charges.
