The annual Festival of Trees will take place November 7 to 9 at the TransCanada Theatre.
Proceeds of the event will go toward the Olds Fashioned Christmas committee's annual tree light-up event in Centennial Park on Nov. 30 and will also go toward further equipping the TransCanada Theatre.
Anyone interested in donating a decorated artificial tree is invited to do so, with trees being set up on Nov. 7 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the theatre. Public viewing of the decorated trees will take place the next night from 7 to 9 p.m. and noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 9. During the afternoon viewing on Nov. 9, a gingerbread tea will also take place, hosted by Olds High School students. Both the viewings are free to the public but donations to the Mountain View Food Bank are encouraged.
A festive social will also take place Nov. 9 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the TransCanada Theatre. Tickets for the festive social are $20 and available at the town office and from any Festival of Trees committee member.
More information about the event is available by contacting Festival of Trees committee members Bonnie Giles at 403-556-8498 or Bibianne Munksgaard at 403-556-8675.
