OLDS — Town council has approved an application for a boxing gym and fitness centre.
The proposed location is in a building at 4526 49th Avenue, just north of Highway 27.
Council approved that application during its Aug. 28 meeting.
Development officer Shari Edgington confirmed there are already several businesses in that location, including a pizza shop and radio station.
Coun. Dan Daley thought there was already an exercise training facility at that location, but not to Edgington’s knowledge.
Edgington confirmed that the applicant/owner, listed as Kimberly Bautisa/1004329 Alberta Inc., is the same one that applied for a permit for a boxing club along 50th Avenue earlier this year.
“That application was approved but did not follow through,” she said.
