OLDS — Town council has approved a bylaw that consolidates the Community Standards Bylaw and six amending bylaws into one document.
Council gave that approval during its June 12 meeting.
There is a good chance however, that certain portions of that bylaw may be broken apart later into separate bylaws.
A town memo about the matter suggests priorities of council that might have their own separate bylaw include graffiti, dogs at large, and traffic.
Chief administrative officer Brent Williams said discussions on those issues and what level of service to provide regarding them are likely to occur this fall.
During the June 12 meeting, council gave third and final reading to the consolidated bylaw. They had given second reading to that document during a May 23 meeting.
“The consolidated bylaw aims to provide citizens, staff and council with a more condensed version to work with,” the town memo says.
