A man has again reserved his plea for a traffic ticket that was laid after a collision that resulted in a fatality in October.

Dilan Kolb reserved his plea to the charge of failing to proceed safely after a stop when he appeared at Didsbury provincial court on March 12. He previously reserved his plea in January. According to Jennifer Kovacs of Alberta Justice, during a March 5 court appearance two victim impact statements were read into the record.

Kolb was charged after a fatal crash occurred on the QE II on Oct. 6, north of the Didsbury overpass. Police said the collision occurred when a 2005 Ford pickup, driven by Kolb, tried to cross both the north and southbound lanes of the highway and drove directly in front of a 2010 Nissan Sentra.

The Sentra was being driven by a 26-year-old woman from Calgary with two passengers. One of the passengers, a 62-year-old woman from North Bay, Ont., was killed as a result of the collision.

Kolb is due back in Didsbury court again on March 21.
