Counterfeit money detectedOlds RCMP received two more reports on Oct. 17 of counterfeit $100 bills being passed at local businesses. While police are still investigating the incidents, they remind business owners and employees to carefully look at any bills they receive to make sure they are genuine, especially larger denominations.Impaired drivers chargedOlds RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway at 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 20. The vehicle travelled north into the Innisfail detachment area where it rolled on the QE II just south of Highway 590. Innisfail RCMP charged the 22-year-old male driver from Edmonton with one count of impaired driving and one count of driving while over 80 milligrams per cent.As well on Oct. 20 Olds RCMP received another report of a possible impaired driver, this one leaving the Texas Mickey. The 28-year-old female driver from Calgary was subsequently arrested after she provided breath samples exceeding 80 milligrams per cent. She was charged with impaired driving and exceeding 80 milligrans per cent.Windows smashed at OESRCMP received a report that sometime between Oct. 12 and 14, windows were smashed at the Olds Elementary School. There are no suspects.
