Alleged thieves arrested
Two men from Olds were arrested on the morning of Feb. 26 after police allegedly found stolen property in their possession. Police said the men were arrested while they were allegedly looking for property to steal in the area and break-in tools and a disguise were found in their possession. Jason Campbell, 31, is charged with three counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, possessing break-in tools, a provincial offence of entering land without permission, fraud, driving while disqualified, possession of property obtained through crime and theft of a motor vehicle. The other suspect, a 57-year-old man, is facing charges of possessing stolen property valued at less than $5,000.
ATV stolen
Olds RCMP said a 2010 Polaris RZR side-by-side ATV was stolen from Champion Cycle Power Sports on 46 Avenue overnight on Feb. 22 or on the morning of Feb. 23. The vehicle is valued at $8,000.
Tools stolen from truck
Sometime between February 20 and 26, roughly a dozen tools were stolen from a truck parked for repairs outside Cam Clark Ford on Highway 27. Police said they have seen an increase in thefts and vandalism at local vehicle dealerships and have stepped up their night patrols at these locations.
