RCMP is investigating multiple thefts that have occurred in the Olds area in the past two weeks.
A break and enter at the IRIS eye care clinic in Cornerstone was reported at 12:40 a.m. on May 2.
“Sunglasses were stolen. I don't have a dollar value, but it was significant,” said Const. Colleen von Krogh, Olds RCMP detachment.
The Olds detachment called for police dog services.
“However, they found the trail and lost it,” said von Krogh.
The matter is still under investigation.
Stolen car parts
Parts were stolen from a car parked in the Olds Dodge Chrysler dealership parking lot sometime between April 20 and May 1.
“The value of the stolen parts is approximately $5,000,” said von Krogh.
The matter is still under investigation.
“If anybody has any information in regard to that, they are welcome to contact us,” said von Krogh.
Theft from backyard
A motorbike and a snowblower were stolen from an Olds residence's backyard on April 26. The residence is situated in the 5100 block of 50 Street.
“It appears that the items were stolen some time after 9 p.m.,” said von Krogh.
“The total value of the two items would be just over $3,000.”
The matter is still under investigation.
Copper wire theft
It was reported last week that copper wire had been stolen from a job site near the corner of Highway 27 and Highway 791, east of Olds.
“Approximately $5,000 worth of copper was stolen,” said Const. Brendan Ward, Olds RCMP.
“We are looking for any information that might assist us in that investigation.”
Vehicle break-ins
RCMP has been dealing with a series of vehicle break-ins in the Hawthorne area.
“These vehicles were left unlocked,” said von Krogh.
“We remind people to keep their vehicles locked at all times.”
