Olds RCMP is seeking the public's assistance to locate the witness of a motorcycle crash that happened last week.

On April 17, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a 39-year-old male Olds motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on 55 Street near Deer Meadow School.

“As he went around the corner just before the four-way stop, the cyclist lost control of the bike and basically went to the ground,” said Cpl. Troy Byrt, Olds RCMP.

“It appears that the motorcyclist crashed into the dumpsters that are there.”

The motorcyclist was transported to the Olds hospital for examination, before being transferred to the Foothills hospital.

“The motorcyclist's injuries are not life-threatening,” said Cpl. Byrt.

“Our investigation is still ongoing with respect to this collision.”

Olds RCMP believes that the female driver of a silver van or SUV that stopped at the scene of the accident is a witness.

“That person spoke briefly with our member that was on scene. However, the person departed before we were able to get information,” said Cpl. Byrt.

“We are seeking the identity of that person. If that person happens to read this, if she could get in touch with us, that would be greatly appreciated.”
