The Olds RCMP detachment and the Alberta Sheriffs arrested four drivers over the Easter weekend.
On April 6, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Alberta Sheriffs stopped a vehicle on Highway 2, near Twp. Rd. 587.
“The sheriffs ended up arresting the 45-year-old male driver of a vehicle as their investigation determined that he was disqualified from driving,” said Cpl. Troy Byrt, Olds RCMP.
Sylvan Lake resident Todd Pequin has been charged with one count of driving while disqualified. He will make his first appearance in Didsbury court on May 14.
On April 7, at approximately 2 a.m., an RCMP member observed a vehicle that was driving unusually. The RCMP officer engaged a traffic stop at the corner of 49 Avenue and 52 Street. The vehicle was driven by a 19-year-old male.
“As a result of the traffic stop, signs of impairment were noted,” said Cpl. Byrt.
Olds resident Chazryn Naidoo has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08.
On April 7, at approximately 11:30 p.m., RCMP members engaged a traffic stop at the corner of 44 Street and 50 Avenue. As a result of the stop, a 46-year-old male from Olds was arrested.
Edward Pochapsky has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08.
On April 8, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Olds RCMP engaged a traffic stop in the 4600 block of 54 Avenue.
“As a result of a traffic stop, a 27-year-old male from Edmonton was arrested,” said Cpl. Byrt.
“He displayed signs of impairment.”
Andy Gibbons was charged with impaired driving, having a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08, and possession of cocaine.
