An Olds man faces more criminal charges after allegedly stealing vehicles wile out on bail conditions related to his arrest in connection with a drug and stolen property seizure in early September.
When Olds RCMP didn't find Thomas Thorne, 20, at his residence Sept. 27 during a curfew check, a warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking.
Police allege that overnight on Sept. 27, Thorne stole a motorhome from the Olds area, a Ford Excursion in a separate incident and a red 2005 Dodge Caravan from east of Olds on September 29. Also on Sept. 29, police say Thorne stole a silver 2007 Freightliner which was involved in a rollover southeast of Bowden on Twp. Rd. 34.2 and Rge. Rd. 28.2.
The Caravan was later recovered by the Three Hills detachment, where police say Thorne ditched the Caravan from a rural area near Trochu and stole a white 2000 Ford F-150.
The Ford truck was spotted the next day in the Pine Lake area, where he allegedly eluded Innisfail police. Thorne was arrested on Oct. 1 and subsequently made a court appearance via closed circuit television. His charges have been set over to Oct. 15.
