An official opening ceremony was held June 12 at École Deer Meadow School for the facility's pergola, named Dot's Spot, in honour of Dot Negropontes, the school's first-ever principal and a driving force behind the creation of the Community Learning

Generations of Olds and area library patrons, staff, volunteers and community members gathered at Olds Municipal Library on June 6 to celebrate the facility’s 60th anniversary.

Olds College conferred an honorary degree posthumously on the late Dot Negropontes during its 104th convocation exercises, held June 1 at the Ralph Klein Centre. Her husband Teddy accepted it on her behalf.

Six hundred cyclists will ride into Olds on June 22 as a part of the MS Bike – Airdrie to Olds tour that aims to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS) and money for research.
