BOWDEN -- Like Olds mayor Mike Muzychka, Bowden mayor Robb Stuart believes some minds were changed in favour of the energy industry during the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) convention.

About 610 cyclists made their way into Olds on Saturday, June 22 as part of the MS Bike – Airdrie to Olds tour to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS) and money for research. MS Bike manager Paula Miller was happy with the turnout of the event.

BOWDEN -- A public hearing will be held July 8 regarding a proposal to rezone a chunk of land — which includes the site of the old Lions Community Hall — to residential multi-family district. Currently, it's zoned as a low density district.

BOWDEN – The Bowden Public Library and its board say they are being left in the dark on discussions by town council about restricting internet use due to concerns that some citizens are downloading pornographic images and videos.

Born June 28 , 1914, Alvina Hawthorne is now ready to celebrate her 105 th birthday with her family and friends at the end of this month. Hawthorne has a sharp sense of humour and that was highlighted when she was asked how it felt to be turning 105.
