A construction crew from Red Deer was recently working to install the support structure for the new slide at the Sundre Aquaplex.
The Sundre and District Aquatic Society is planning to host an official community unveiling event at a yet to be determined date. The slide has since been assembled and all that remains before being able to open to the public is a safety inspection.
A $100,000 grant from CO-OP Community Spaces made the upgrade possible, said Lesley Turgeon, manager.
“The slide is here because of this grant. We’re all getting very excited, it’s been a long ways coming,” she said.
