No one was seriously hurt following a recent two motor vehicle collision on Highway 27.
On the afternoon of June 2, the driver of a pickup truck pulling a camper was heading west on Highway 27 towards Sundre in the outer westbound lane. The driver signalled an intent to turn right into the Shell gas station parking lot and slowed down to make the turn.
The driver of a blue 2010 Pontiac Vibe was waiting to turn onto Highway 27 from the Shell gas station parking lot to head east. The driver of the Pontiac saw the truck and camper pulling into the Shell parking lot and proceeded to pull out onto the highway. However, the driver failed to see a black 2006 Chevrolet Equinox that was also heading west in the inside westbound lane as the view of the Equinox was obstructed by the truck and camper.
The Equinox hit the side of the Pontiac in a T-bone collision. Occupants of both vehicles suffered minor injuries and did not need to be admitted to the hospital. The driver of the Pontiac, a 25-year-old male from Olds, was charged under the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulations for failing to yield to a motor vehicle already on the highway when attempting to enter the road, the Sundre RCMP reported.
