The Olds Agricultural Society's ask has been answered.At last Wednesday's meeting, Mountain View County council approved the OAS request for $5,000 to sponsor youth programming.The OAS “ask” was made at the April 11 policies and priorities committee meeting, along with a recommendation from P&P for council to consider the request.In its submission to council, the ag society noted that its Summer Synergy event “provides a collaborative opportunity to display youth in agriculture by combining traditional livestock competition with innovative approaches for personal achievement and development.”Summer Synergy “increases cooperation between various livestock breed youth groups and youth organizations while enhancing the profile of the rural lifestyle and primary agriculture production,” the OAS submission said.Other examples of OAS youth programming include 4-H, youth equine and conferences.
