Two area seniors are dead following a head-on collision north of Sundre April 25.A 75-year-old woman from Sundre was pronounced dead at the scene of what RCMP are calling a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 22 near Highway 587, on April 25.The driver of the other vehicle, a 63-year-old Rocky Mountain House man succumbed to his injuries that night after being flown by STARS to a Calgary hospital, police said.Sundre officers were called out to the two-vehicle accident around 1:45 p.m. last Wednesday.According to police, there was one occupant in each of the vehicles involved in the collision between a Ford Fusion and a Ford Escape.Along with other emergency personnel, an RCMP collision analyst attended the scene.While the cause of the collision is still under investigation, police say it does not appear that alcohol was a factor and reminded motorists to pay attention when driving, including being aware at all times of the surroundings.The highway had been expected to remain closed at least until 5 p.m that day or until the investigation was completed.
