DOGPOUND – The 114th annual Dogpound Stampede rodeo on July 17 and 18 enjoyed great weather and equally great competition, say officials.

Correction: Re: “Council approves Poplar Ridge re-designation”, page 14, July 16 Gazette. Didsbury councillors gave first and second reading to a proposed land use re-designation at the Poplar Ridge development at the recent council meeting.

DIDSBURY - A local hay farmer from just outside of Didsbury noticed some of his trees were looking bad. Dwayne Archer of Archer Farms checked with an arborist who said it was likely from road salt.

DIDSBURY - The Wild Rose Humane Society (WRHS) shelter is looking at expanding to include dogs. The shelter, which is located in Didsbury, has been operating for about a year and has to date been exclusively for cats.

DIDSBURY – Town councillors are scheduled to consider an updated procurement of goods and services policy at this week’s council meeting.

Work is underway to update Mountain View County’s communication strategic plan, with councillors reviewing the results of a recent related internal survey during last week’s council meeting.

Mountain View County’s municipal planning commission has approved development permits in Division 4 and Division 6. The moves came during the commission’s recent regularly scheduled meetings in council chambers.

DIDSBURY – The concession at the Didsbury Memorial Complex will be privately run for the upcoming 2019-20 season, pending town approval.
