Mountain View County (MVC) residents are being encouraged to take part in a new online survey regarding rural crime in the region.

DIDSBURY -- Didsbury town residents will see their future utility fees rise starting in the month of April on bills sent out in early May, say officials. Solid waste pickup for residential will increase from $21 per month to $22.

Mountain View County (MVC) council is scheduled to vote on the overall budget and set the tax rate bylaw on April 10. During last week’s council meeting, councillors reviewed the proposed budget and passed a motion to bring the items back for a vote.

Al Kemmere, a Mountain View County councillor and president of the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA), has met with the newly appointed national head of the RCMP and the head of the RCMP in Alberta to discuss issues and concerns for rural Alberta.

A debate for candidates running in the Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills constituency for the April 16 provincial election has been set up. It will be held Thursday, April 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the TransCanada Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
