Olds to host Midget A Female Provincial Championships

Olds will host the 2016 Hockey Alberta Midget A Female Provincial Championships. The tournament will take place from March 10-13. The Olds midget A female Grizzlys will automatically get berths as host team. That announcement was made last week.

The Olds Grizzlys have added Pat Seeley to their coaching staff. Seeley, an Olds resident, fills in when other assistant coaches cannot make it to games. He helps run a skill development practice each week, with a large emphasis on skating.

The Olds Koinonia Christian School Royals beat the Olds High School Spartans 48-29 at the Ralph Klein Centre gymnasium on Dec. 10. Dayna Sewell led the way for the Royals, scoring 10 points. The Spartans' Regan Dagg scored a game-high 12 points.

Olds Curling Club is hosting Alberta Southern Ladies Playdowns this weekend. The first draw at the Olds Curling Club takes place at 2 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 18. There are three draws on Saturday; at 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m.
