A new seniors facility currently under construction near the Olds Hospital and Care Centre should be opening next spring.
The 107-unit facility will house 60 units of supportive living Level 4, with 24-hour access to licensed practical nurses and the remainder featuring private retirement suites similar to those at Sunrise Village.
Continuum Health Care received just over $5.3 million in Affordable Supportive Living Initiative grant funds from the provincial government to build the facility.
Construction on the building started a few months ago.
“(Alberta Health Services) had identified the town of Olds as a need (for more spaces) so we were the recipient of a grant,” said Stacey Dick, director of operations with Continuum Health Care.
