Fire permits may still be required for open fires, defined as any fire not contained within a pit, an outdoor fireplace, a barbecue or an incinerator approved by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.
In addition, permits are also required for the burning of weeds or any other plants and recreational fires that are to be burned in a recreational area that hasn't been approved by town administration.
Firefighters from Olds have responded to 19 grass fires including calls for mutual aid.
Mountain View County lifted its ban the same day.
