Olds Healthcare Lifeline, a medical alert service designed to help seniors live in their own homes, is holding a celebration to mark its one-year anniversary as the preferred medical alarm provider of the Olds Healthcare Fundraising Committee, at the Olds Hospital and Care Centre on June 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

By pushing a waterproof button, seniors can summon help from a professionally trained Lifeline associate, 24 hours a day.

Using two-way voice communication, Lifeline associates can quickly assess the situation and contact a neighbour, family member or emergency services to provide assistance to the senior in need.

The Lifeline program also provides presentations to seniors and community groups on fall prevention.

The celebration will include draws, coffee and cupcakes and an information session on the Lifeline service.
