Despite an alert by the Town of Olds to conserve water because of potential problems at the Anthony Henday Water Treatment Plant, water safety was never an issue, said the chair of the Mountain View Regional Water Services Commission.
“We were never in an urgent situation,” said Rick Blair, chair of the commission.
The town had posted an alert on its community Facebook page for residents to conserve water due to turbidity in the water.
Due to routine maintenance at the plant to clear debris from one of two water intakes, the MountainView Regional Water Services Commission sent out an advisory to member communities telling them about the maintenance.
Rick Blair, the commission's chair, said there was never a pumping or water supply problem.
