Several people to answer charges related to drug bust

Michael Klem, 37, Natalie Carriere, 42, Jennifer Ellah, 35, Richard Logan, 38, as well as several youth have been charged following a search warrant conducted on a residence in the 5100 block of 51 Street on Dec. 21. During the search warrant, RCMP seized 7.5 grams of cocaine, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, 20 ecstacy pills and 12 capsules of codeine, along with an undisclosed amount of cash and stolen property.

Klem and Carriere are each facing a possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking charge, and two charges each of possession of a controlled substance. They will be appearing in Didsbury provincial court on Jan. 14.

Ellah is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with an undertaking. Ellah will also be facing charges related to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and failing to appear for a court date in June 2012. She is scheduled to appear in Didsbury court on Jan. 14.

Logan will be facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, five counts of failing to comply with a probation order, an earlier uttering counterfeit currency charge from May 2011 and failing to appear in court. Logan also has an outstanding warrant from the Swan Hills area for failing to comply with a recognizance. Logan made his first appearance in Didsbury court on Wednesday related to the latest charges. He was to appear again today.

Olds RCMP declined to comment about the circumstances of the search warrant.
