BOWDEN -- Local RCMP officers are still waiting for specialized roadside cannabis testing kits to come out as Oct. 17 looms. That's the date when consumption of recreational cannabis becomes legal nationwide.

Beginning this Friday through Monday, Oct. 8, Olds RCMP will be participating in Operation Impact, an annual awareness campaign to encourage safe driving behaviour.

BOWDEN - An intersection does not necessarily have to have a history of collisions to be dangerous, the commanding officer of Olds RCMP says. Staff Sgt. Jim MacDonald made that point during a Sept. 24 Bowden town council meeting.
