INNISFAIL – Volunteers play a vital role in any community. The towns of Innisfail and Penhold are celebrating their volunteers during National Volunteer Week, from April 7 to 13. Penhold is hosting an event at the Memorial Hall on April 11.

INNISFAIL – There is a big staff change coming this spring to the Innisfail Public Library. After six years manager Sara Kepper is leaving. “I loved my job. It was a really, really hard decision to leave,” said Kepper, citing personal reasons.

INNISFAIL – The Boob Tour is returning to Innisfail. The tour makes a stop at the Royal Canadian Legion on April 3. It is the sixth year for the event in Innisfail.

BOWDEN -- Developers Lucas and Lindsay Brann, who are considering developing tiny homes in the community are looking at having land for the project surveyed, with a goal of moving ahead on it by May 1.

INNISFAIL -- Quick action by workers and local firefighters saved a burning structure at Bilton Welding & Manufacturing last week from catastrophic damage.

PENHOLD – The town wants to count you in. Penhold council recently passed a motion to conduct a 2019 municipal census between April 1 and June 30. The last municipal census was conducted in 2014 and the last federal census in 2016.

INNISFAIL – For nearly a century Innisfail and area hunters and anglers have celebrated wildlife and the great outdoors. The Innisfail Fish and Game Association is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2019.

RED DEER -- Like he has done hundreds of times before Ivan Daines gets ready for another show. Ivan's guitar, this well-worn road warrior's tool of love, is dutifully placed at his side.

INNISFAIL – For many students it’s not just about facing challenges but how you respond to them. Grade 5 students at Innisfail Middle School recently learned that and more thanks to the D.A.R.E. program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
