INNISFAIL – After more than a year of being first introduced as a strategic priority for the town, Innisfail’s new council has adopted a policy for public engagement.

INNISFAIL – Finding a locally brewed pint of beer in Innisfail will soon get easier with the introduction of new microbreweries.

INNISFAIL - Happy New Year everybody! Philip Massier, the Division 1 councillor for Red Deer County recently talked and helped us with some stuff about public speaking. Our club’s public speaking event is on Jan. 28 at the Knee Hill Valley Hall.

INNISFAIL – The town’s community services director has resigned. The town recently accepted the resignation of Henry Wong, who served the Town of Innisfail in the position for the past three years, said a news release issued by the town on Jan. 15.

INNISFAIL – The recent drive by town leaders to improve community aesthetics continued last week with a proposal to create a bylaw specifically targeting tree maintenance.

BOWDEN – Council has postponed approval of a drinking water distribution and safety plan policy, pending some more tweaking by town staff. The plan/policy, which outlines a standard operating procedure (SOP) came up for approval during council’s Jan.

INNISFAIL – Kids now have an opportunity to learn about nature and outdoor skills thanks to the Junior Forest Wardens program (JFW) in Innisfail. The program began in September 2016 and is open to youth ages six to 18.

PENHOLD – Economic development continues to be front and centre in Penhold in 2018. Several new businesses have recently opened in Penhold with several more expected by the end of the year.

BOWDEN - A trip to the Bowden Museum will net you a look back in time at a unique collection of early century photos that have now been transferred to the Alberta Archives for preservation.

PENHOLD – Local residents gave generously through the Food For Fines campaign last month.
