INNISFAIL – The Innisfail Farmers' Market is back in business. The local market opened for the 2018 season at the Innisfail Arena on May 17. It runs every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Sept. 20.

INNISFAIL - The town has taken a big step away from being its own realtor for its residential land stock, which has faced stagnant investor interest in recent years.

INNISFAIL – The Rangeland 4-H Beef Club is doing its part to help keep the province clean. The Spruce View area club was one of many groups and organizations across Alberta to participate in the annual highway cleanup on May 5.

INNISFAIL - Longtime Innisfailian Lisa Reid was turned in by an annoyed citizen for having pet chickens and now the entire previously hidden fowl-loving community may soon rise with jubilation to see their passion embraced by law.

BOWDEN - The Town of Bowden is holding a public hearing on proposed changes to its land use bylaws, including sections dealing with the sale and processing of marijuana, also known as cannabis.

INNISFAIL – After a three-year hiatus, the Asparagus Festival is back. The festival will take place at Edgar Farms west of Innisfail, on May 27, and June 3 and 10.

PENHOLD – The town took time to appreciate women and hosted a Women’s Day Out as part of International Women’s Day on March 8. The annual event took place at Memorial Hall in Penhold on April 28. It was rescheduled from its original date in March.

INNISFAIL – Students at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School were strutting their stuff during their annual talent show. The springtime event took place at the school on April 27. “Students in grades 5 to 9 are invited to be in the talent show.

INNISFAIL – Your presence is requested at the Royal Wedding Tea, hosted by the Innisfail and District Historical Village on May 19. The special event takes place in the Tea Room from 2 to 4 p.m.

INNISFAIL - The town's aging handivan is back in service after a four-day grounding, but its operational days may still be short-lived as it's expected council will soon be presented with a recommendation to buy an urgently needed new vehicle.
