Penhold peace officers are encouraging the community to “keep it clean” in an attempt to deter graffiti. “We're trying to make the community aware,” said Dana Jones, a Penhold peace officer.

Assault charge A man was charged with resisting arrest and assault after police were called to a domestic incident on May 29. The incident occurred just outside of Innisfail on a rural property in the afternoon.

Plea reserved in drug case A man charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking is scheduled to enter his plea when he appears in Red Deer provincial court on June 12.

Penhold town council passed a new combative sports bylaw during its May 28 meeting. The new bylaw replaces the former combative sports bylaw and calls for a new commission to be formed.

The Town of Innisfail's peace officers can be spotted cycling their way around town this summer. Peace officer Ryan Anderson said this is the first summer both peace officers will have bikes, though it's the third year having a bike patrol.
