Federal NDP candidate Stuart Somerville is running for the second time to be MP in the Red Deer Riding.

The RCMP has announced the winners of this year’s “Name the Puppy” contest. Innisfail’s RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre (PDSTC) made the announcement last week after receiving 3,197 entries from across Canada for 10 German Shepherd puppies.

This year’s crop production looks promising for Innisfail and area farmers. But for the promising prediction to turn into reality Mother Nature has to be onside.

A Spruce View School teacher has been chosen as a semi-finalist in Alberta Education’s 2011 Excellence in Teaching Awards. Teri Patterson, a Grade 6 teacher at Spruce View School, was selected from 326 nominations from across the province.
