DIDSBURY - A couple of upcoming house concerts are set to rock Didsbury in the next few weeks.

Local hairstylist Lee Cenaiko of Zebedeez Hair Design is competing on team Canada in a hairstyling competition in Paris in September. Cenaiko is excited, humbled and nervous about being able to represent her country in a huge competition.

A benefit dance for local injured Humboldt Broncos player Graysen Cameron and members of the Olds and District Special Olympics (ODSO) was a success, an organizer says.

Canadian country artist Michelle Wright is coming to the TransCanada Theatre. Wright will be performing there May 16, 7:30 p.m., as part of the Grand Olds Opry, presented by the Olds Kiwanis Performing Arts Society.

Up and coming Canadian country music artist Scotty Kipfer is on a road trip to promote his first album “Taking My Time” and stopped in Olds en route.

More than two dozen artists displayed about 150 paintings during the Sundre Art Society’s show and sale. “We had 28 artists who entered their work,” said society president Lila Weiss, adding that is pretty consistent with previous years.

DIDSBURY - The University of Lethbridge's Global Drums ensemble played a well received concert on May 3 at Didsbury High School (DHS). Also performing at the sold-out show were the DHS symphonic winds and the Grade 9 band.

DIDSBURY - Didsbury Museum will be wrapping up its coffee and conversation program for the spring with a presentation about ghost towns from Johnnie Bachusky on May 23 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

DIDSBURY - Didsbury High School (DHS) put on another well-received performance on April 28 with a dinner theatre performance of Death of a Hot Sauce Salesman.

OLDS - Two local residents have combined forces to create a piece of art they hope will help the Humboldt Broncos and the surrounding community heal from the horror of the April 6 crash between the team's bus and a semi-trailer.
